The Beast of Bray Road

The Beast of Bray Road

The first sighing of the beast of bray road was back in 1936. But the majority of sightings were in the 80s and 90's. These sightings have been mostly in Elkhorn, Wisconsin.. And they happened on a rural farm road Bray Road. Thus the name.

The most popular sighting was from Lori Endrizzi, who reported that she was driving down Bray Road and saw the back of an animal on the side of the road. As she got closer she could see that the beast was clutching road kill and eating it. As her headlights hit the beast it looked up at her and she said it was dark brown with red glaring eyes and pointed ears. she estimated it was about 5'7 and weighted about 150 pounds.

Another woman, Doris Gipson was driving down Bray Rd and thought she hit an animal. She stopped to see what she hit and saw this creature running towards her so she ran back to her car quickly and the creature lifted the back or her car. She hit the gas and gunned it down the road. Doris claimed to see the creature one more time when she was with a friend driving down Bray Road again. When she got home she found claw marks on the back of her car.

Another man named Mark claimed to see this creature in a graveyard. He claims to have gone back to the sight again and saw the creature again. He said the creature had black hair and smelled like dead meat.

Another man named Scott who was with a group of friends reported they saw the beast near Fort Atkinson. They claimed to have hit an animal and got out of the car. The friends got out of the car and found a smelly large animal that they did not recognize. They let the police know. The police said they got another call also that there was a huge animal, possibly a black bear laying dead on the side of the road, although police that went out there didn't find anything. Again Tom had future sightings too of this animal or creature saying it had dog like legs and face but stood on two feet.

The creature did not seem scared by humans by all the witness accounts. And an odd thing is that many eyewitnesses have seen the creature more than once.

Linda Godfrey  local newspaper reporter from the Walworth County Week, covered the story at first skeptically but after interviewing many of the witnesses she started to change her mind. They all seemed credible. She eventually turned her articles into a book titled The Beast of Bray Road: Tailing Wisconsin's Werewolf.

A couple or the witnesses say that they had encounters on the rural road with it either being on the side of the road eating a dead animal or another woman who thought she hit the beast and pulled over to see what it was, but it chased her back to her car and scratched her back door leaving  long scratch marks.

Believers have different theories on what this creature is. Some believe it is a Bigfoot, some a werewolf or dog man and others think possibly an interdimensional being since it keeps reappearing in the same area at random times years apart.

Skeptics believe people are just misidentifying wolves or black bears, although both are rare in this part of Wisconsin. Others claim is may be a wolf or bear with mange which would give it a strange scary appearance.

There are many books, documentaries and movies about The Beast of Bray Road which I'll link down below.

The Disappearing and Reappearing Wheelchair Leg

The Disappearing and Reappearing Wheelchair Leg  My mom was really sick with pancreatic cancer. I had to get her to the hospital in Madison for a doctor appointment. The hospitals there are really big and I knew I'd have to get a wheelchair.  So I went to a local place that rents them out to you for several months at a time.  I got there, my sister helped me put it in the back of my car and the three of us were off to the Madison hospital. We get there and get the wheelchair out of the car and it's missing one of the foot rests. I thought maybe I dropped it when I was pulling the wheelchair out of the back of my car so my sister and I looked under the car, inside the care, everywhere around us and the car but it was just gone. I thought maybe it was never on there in the first place or it fell off where I was parked when I was loading it into the car. So I called the rental place and asked them to take a look to see if it was there somewhere. The lady called back about ten minu

Werewolf

Werewolf In folklore a werewolf is a beast that is half human and half wolf. The word "werewolf" comes from the Old English words "wer" and "wulf", which mean "man" and "wolf". The story goes that either a curse was put on a human that he would turn into a wolf on a full moon night, or that if you are a child of a werewolf, you will remain human, until you accidentally or purposely kill another human, then the curse shall take hold on you too. Vikings believed that if you wore the fur of an animal it would give you the strength of them. This could of been the start of storytelling about hybrids or men with animal like strength. At the same time during the late Middle Ages , when  people's beliefs in witches were taking off, lesser known is that this is when the legend of the werewolf also began.  v is a mental condition in which one believes that he is a wolf, and thus people who had this condition were also persecuted as a witche
